Baptism is celebrated within the context of one of the Sunday liturgies. Parents and Godparents are invited to attend one instructional session. Parents are requested to contact the Parish Office at least two months in advance of the desired time frame. Please stop by the Rectory and fill out a Baptismal Form. Godparents must be chosen based on their ability and willingness to assume and fulfill the duties attached to their role and bear witness to the Roman Catholic Faith. By Church Law, Godparents must be Catholics in good standing, be at least sixteen years old and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. ONE Godparent may be a non-Catholic if necessary, but there must be ONE CATHOLIC GODPARENT. Eucharist is celebrated on Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 4:45 PM and on Tuesday-Thursday- Saturday at 8:00 AM in the chapel. Weekend masses are celebrated at 4:00 PM on Saturday and at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on Sunday. We are happy to bring the Eucharist to parishioners who are homebound due to sickness or infirmity. Arrangements can be made by calling the Parish Rectory at 863-2388. Our reconciliation room (located at the entrance of the Chapel) offers parishioners the opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation either anonymously or face-to-face. Confessions are heard on Monday from 11:30 AM to 12:00 Noon, on Friday from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Confirmation is usually celebrated at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral by the Bishop. Teenagers are Confirmed in a deanery wide celebration in April or May. Adults are confirmed at the Easter Vigil. Couples planning to marry should make an appointment to see the Pastor as soon as possible, before reception halls are reserved or other binding arrangements made. A year or more in advance is not too early to set up this meeting, which is required before a wedding can be scheduled. This meeting also affords an early opportunity for the priest and couple to get acquainted, review the process of preparation, discuss any special circumstances or requests, and in those cases work out a suitable way to respond to them. Besides working with the Pastor, engaged couples are asked to participate in a marriage preparation program. The parish offers a Pre-Cana Program which takes place in the spring. The Pastor is pleased to celebrate the anointing of the sick (or sacrament of the sick) with parishioners who are seriously ill or who are notably weakened due to advanced age. Priest, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, and other volunteers also schedule visits to persons who are sick at home or have been admitted to the hospital or nursing home.
