Lunch for week of April 28, 2008
Terra Nova Testing begins on Monday, May 5th. It is important that students be here on time each and every day. We need 100% attendance for peak performance.
Spring concert / Cabaret has been rescheduled to Monday, May 19th @ 6:30 PM in the school gymnasium. The evening will begin with the concert, then The Ugly Woodpecker directed by Melissa Aurigemma, and end with the middle school cabaret. Please mark your calendars. All students will be participating in the concert.
Summer Skills Review Book Each book is designed to be completed in 15-30 minutes, 3 times per week for 10 weeks. Generally the grade level just completed is ordered. The books sell for $18 each with includes shipping. Orders are due by April 18th. Orders forms went home last week. More are available on the shelf in the office.
Thanks so much for all of your support for this successful event! We made as much as we did last year – approximately $15,000 which is 65% of our home & school fundraising for the year. Great work!
A table is set up in the hall outside the office with a few remaining items and some new items for bidding. We will accept bids until Thursday, May 1st , 3:00 PM. A wireless Guitar Hero for PS 2 Playstation is available from Contois Music valued at $120. A carrying case and game is also included. MetroGnomes that can be clipped to a belt with ear bud are also available and valued at $30 each. Stop by to check out the items and place your bid!
School Board Meeting
All our parents are invited to the next board meeting on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 5:30 PM in the meeting room. We are building for future growth and your input is valuable in this planning process. All are invited to brainstorm and share ideas at this meeting.
Teacher & Staff Recognition Teacher recognition this year goes to Mrs. Therese Rainville and staff recognition goes to Mrs. Patti Cartier. They represent all the great work that all our faculty and staff do for our students daily. They will both be recognized at a luncheon on May 13th along with representatives from all our VT Catholic Schools. We thank them for their many contributions and dedication to our school. Congratulations!
Serving Lunch – May 13th We will need 2 volunteers to serve lunch so that Mrs. Cartier can attend the recognition dinner. Volunteer hours can be used. Please contact me as soon as possible if you can help.
School Board News The St. Joseph School Board has a 1 three year term to fill for the 2008-2009 school year. If you are interested in serving on the board, please submit a letter stating reasons why you would like to serve on the board. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Young Rembrandts Classes! We will be offering our last session of drawing/cartooning classes beginning after vacation, same day and same time, Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 PM. Golf Tournament Mark your calendars and save the date! Our golf tournament is scheduled for Thursday, June 26th @ 1:00 PM at Lang Farm. Registration will begin at 12:00 PM. Entry fee of $75 includes green fees & cart, team prizes, BBQ dinner, longest drive, and putting contest. We also will need help that day to ‘man’ the contests, cook and serve the BBQ. If you are interested in earning volunteer hours on this day, let me know.
